Positive aspects:
Visited there too briefly, but got to spend time in the beautiful square, see the university, visit some dramatic medieval churches across the river, and see the panorama of a major 18th c. Polish battle. The river itself is wonderful to walk along. Ate in two good restaurants on the square, one italian, La Scala, and one Japanese, I think called something like Moru. Wonderful gift shop, with glass objects on the square. Starts with "A" but can't recall name.Excellent inexpensive silver jewelry shops around the corner from the hotel. Compared to the Euro, the zlaty and the Polish cost of living in general seems more U.S. Dollar friendly.
Negative aspects:
None. Liked it almost as much as Cracow, although more to do in the larger city.
The old part of town is clearly the place to be. The rest of the city not as charming. |
