Warren from United States stayed for 1 night(-s)

Positive aspects:
Visited there too briefly, but got to spend time in the beautiful square, see the university, visit some dramatic medieval churches across the river, and see the panorama of a major 18th c. Polish battle. The river itself is wonderful to walk along. Ate in two good restaurants on the square, one italian, La Scala, and one Japanese, I think called something like Moru. Wonderful gift shop, with glass objects on the square. Starts with "A" but can't recall name.Excellent inexpensive silver jewelry shops around the corner from the hotel. Compared to the Euro, the zlaty and the Polish cost of living in general seems more U.S. Dollar friendly.
Negative aspects:
None. Liked it almost as much as Cracow, although more to do in the larger city. The old part of town is clearly the place to be. The rest of the city not as charming.

Elizabeth from United Kingdom stayed for 4 night(-s)

Positive aspects:
Wroclaw is like Krakow with a wonderful main square, but felt bigger. We would recommend Cathedral Island (Ostrow Tumski) which is very picturesque. Go up the Cathedral Tower (there is a lift!) to enjoy the view, the Botanical Gardens which are nearby and the University's Aulum Leopoldinum. Great choice of restaurants, all the food we tried was good quality and half the UK price.
Negative aspects:
No real negative points - only that it is not geared up very much for English speaking visitors - most visitors seem to be German. The main tourist attraction apparently is the Rotunda Raclawice but it gets swamped by busloads of Germans and kids so despite two attempts, we didn't get in! The airport coming back was very busy and it took ages to get through to departure area - the staff check absolutely everything - be prepared for a queue!
