The castle at Malbork is one of the most remarkable buildings I have ever seen - certainly well worth a visit.

Positive aspects:
We would stay at this location again, Malbork Castle was very impressive. We got to experience the true Poland which was good and it was not commercialised. Restaurant food was excellent. Would reccomend it to any travellers.

Positive aspects:
What can we say - its an awesome site that is centuries old. Damn the armies for being there to destroy it in 1945! If you have an interest in the church, knights, castles of the middle ages - this is definately the place for you to visit. Children will love it.
Negative aspects:
The musuem ticket office told us that several things were included in our ticket (they were not) - such as the tower, which we had to pay an additional 5zl for. Not a big deal, but rather annoying. No good self guiding guide books. They appear to to steer you to use an language guide of your choice. From what I heard, the English guides seemed nice and spoke loud enough. I would like to see a thorough English guide written so that I can walk around at my own pace and explore - would gladly pay 20-25zl for it (paper - nothing fancy!) |
