Positive aspects:
This is my home town which I left 25 years ago when I was 21 so I am biased. Great restaurants -- Le Vita (Italian) on Barlickiego Street and Polska on Zwyciestwa -- amazing food, can eat there every day. The place is super safe -- it is a large university town and with many institutes -- can walk around after dark w/o fear. Recommend that you go to the Town Square -- great cafes, always full, good drink or food, great people watching.
Negative aspects:
The railway station is horrible -- small and dirty, get away from there as soon as you can. No other downsides -- and I know the place inside out -- all is so much better then under communism. Oh, do not forget to visit the new Carrefour center -- great shopping mall. |
